These single serve Hot Chocolate Mix containers are so adorably cute and it would make an excellent gift for the kids not only to make, but also to hand out to their friends at school.

I have to admit, this year I am very into small, tiny everythings ! From food, to decorations, gift ideas and the list just goes on. I just love everything in a smaller version.

I was walking through the Crazy Plastics Store the other day, and the moment I laid eyes on these super inexpensive little containers, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them – make heaps of the Single Serve Hot Chocolate Mix containers.

Above is a pic of everything I used and lower down I give you the how to and the recipe for the Hot Chocolate Mix. I like to use Caster Sugar (Granulated Sugar) as it dissolves quicker and also at lower temperatures than plain sugar.

TO MAKE THE SINGLE SERVE HOT CHOCOLATE MIX
  • Place 2 tablespoons of the Hot Chocolate Mix in the bottom of a small container (recipe below)
  • Top with 1/2 tablespoon of Chocolate Chips
  • Add 1 tablespoon of Crushed Candy Cane
  • Finally top up your container with Mini Marshmallows

The fact that these containers are so small, gave me the idea to just write the simple instruction, using a Gold Metallic Permanent Marker Sharpie, instead of tying a tag to it as well. You can of course do it any way you prefer.

Once I had everything set up, I made 50 of these cuties in just over an hour. More than enough for a classroom full of friends, colleagues at work, or to pop one or two into your handbag to see you through the day.

The decorating options are also endless, but there is not much easier, and striking, as a simple strip of Christmas tape and the layers already looks great too !
