DIY Headboard with Built-In Lights which casts a lovely glow. An easy project to make yourself and is suitable for a teenager’s bedroom or an adult bedroom.
The Headboard for Cheri’s bedroom is done ! Between starting this project, my sudden surgery and actually completing this DIY Headboard, I have no idea how long we were busy with it.
One thing I do know is that everyone who had seen it, even when we were only halfway done, immediately fell in love with it.
When we started building, we never imagined how big, and what a huge impact, this Headboard would make !
We used only one sheet of 2750mm x 1830mm x 16mm SupaWood. And had all the pieces cut to size by our timber supplier. This way it saves a massive amount of work once the pieces are cut.
I pinned a DIY Headboard with built-in lights a few weeks ago, when we only just started my daughter’s room makeover.
One Saturday when she was home, I showed her all the pins I had already pinned and how I wanted to use them.
Either for inspiration only, or to make something similar, yet a bit different.
The first pin which caught her eye was of the Headboard ! She asked me to please make no changes, she would love it exactly as the one on the pin.
Now, who can say no to their lovely little girl ?!? Riiigght…. she’s not little anymore but turns 21 this year ! Oh, where does the time go ????
We did not install the light switches too low, or too high. I think they are just about right where we have them now – see above pic.
