Butterscotch & Apple Sundae

Need an impressive, and delicious dessert in a hurry?  This one will take under 10 minutes to make.

Granted, it is the Butterscotch Sauce which is the main flavor here, but really, who does not like Butterscotch !

I totally forgot about making a dessert the other night and this was excellent as I had everything on hand and as I already mentioned - it takes less than 10 minutes to make.

I poured the hot sauce straight from the stove plate over as I wanted the Sauce to melt the Ice-Cream a little and also to get into every little opening through the Sundae.  If you'd like it a bit thicker and only want to use it as a topping, after removing the Sauce from the heat - simply wait 5 - 10 minutes for it to cool down a bit and the Sauce will keep on thickening as well.

{6 - 8 servings}

1/2 cup Butter
1 cup Dark Brown {Muscovado} Sugar
1 cup Fresh Cream   {whipping cream/double cream}
2 cans (385g each) Apple pieces, drained
Vanilla Ice-Cream
Mint Leaves, to decorate   {optional}

1.) Heat the Butter and Sugar in a medium pot until melted and the Sugar has dissolved - turn the heat down to medium - add the Fresh Cream - stir through and let simmer for 5 - 7 minutes {stir occasionally}.
2.) Remove from heat.
3.) Place a layer of Apples in the bottom of each serving bowl - add Ice-Cream - add more Apple pieces and top with the Butterscotch Sauce.

Decorate with Mint leaves, if using and serve immediately.

Hope you enjoy this quick and easy, delicious dessert !
