Apple Fritters

Apple Fritters ~ Sprinkled with Cinnamon Sugar, these are the perfect Apple snacks to enjoy anytime #AppleRecipe #AppleFritters #Snacks

We could not stop eating these little Apple Fritters... it is like when you start with peanuts or popcorn - no stopping until it is all gone.

I wanted to make a dip to go with this but after tasting {whilst I was frying in batches, of course...whink} the fritters as is, I decided the Cinnamon Sugar is enough.

This time round, I did remember Cheri's dislike in warm apples, so I fried some of the batter without apple inside and only sprinkled it with Cinnamon Sugar - she liked it, and I also think it was not that bad... better than no dessert at all !

Apple Fritters

1 cup Cake Flour
1 t Baking Powder
1 TB Sugar
1/2 t Salt
2 Extra-Large Eggs, separated
1/2 cup Milk
1 TB Oil - {plus extra for deep fryng}
4 Apples, peeled and cut into bite sized chunks
Cinnamon Sugar, to sprinkle over

1.) Sift together the Cake Flour, Baking Powder, Sugar and Salt in a medium mixing bowl.
2.) Beat the Egg Yolks, Milk and Oil until well mixed - add this to the dry ingredients in the medium mixing bowl - stir until smooth.
3.) Whisk the Egg Whites until stiff and fold into the batter.
4.) Heat the Oil for deep frying over medium heat - using a fork or spoon, dip chunks of Apple in the batter and fry 3 - 4 minutes until puffy and golden brown.{do this in batches}
5.) Drain on paper towels - dust with Cinnamon Sugar as soon as possible.

I want to try this recipe but using banana instead, next time.
