Mushroom & Bacon Salad

I'd love to share a few things concerning my blog with you today!

My blog has reached two milestones this past week;

1.) GFC followers passed the 100 mark
2.) Reached  20 000 pageviews

At the time these milestones were reached, this was what the stats looked like;

1.) 88 days since the first food post
2.) 90 Posts
3.) Daily pageviews in excess of 400
4.) 9750 pageviews for the month (30 day period)
5.) Facebook page has grown by 400% even though there are only 73 likes (excluding blog pages liking the  With A Blast FB page) - the page is 50 days old today!
6.) And yes, I keep count of features received as well  { 43 to date } - and I still and will always feel very  honored when a Link Party owner thinks anything of mine is worth to be featured.
7.) Besides GFC and FB - I also have around 40 followers via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs and Linky - but    the biggest group is with Google+ {in excess of 100 in circles and around 200 in extended circles}

The people responsible for the fast growth {fast..., to my estimation, anyway..} of my blog are you, the readers, and I'd like to thank each and everyone of you - whether you're following me or just happen to visit me. {or as they say "stumbled upon"}.

I realise that hosting a Linky Party brings a whole bunch of traffic to a blog, but I am not ready for something like that, YET ;-)

For the moment, I just enjoy that people are interested enough in my stuff to pay me a visit every now and then. Fortunately, or maybe UNfortunately , I do not have any pressure from Sponsors, wanting specific posts, or a specific number of posts per week, or pageviews and whatever else. I have had quite a few blog related and social media "job offers" from various institutions but declined all for the moment.

Right, this post has already run longer than I intended - here is a very nice and refreshing salad recipe:

Mushroom & Bacon Salad

adapted by me from the cookbook SPYSKAARTE VIR ELKE SEISOEN by Annette Human

250g Rindless Streaky Bacon, fried crispy and chopped roughly
250g White Mushrooms, sliced
2 rings (about 1 cup when cubed) Feta cheese, cubed
2 - 3 cups Crispy Lettuce, shredded
3 Eggs, hardboiled, sliced or chopped
1 cup Frozen Peas
3 TB Parsley, chopped

1/2 cup Mayonnaise
1/4 cup Cream
Freshly ground Black Pepper

1.) Place all the Salad ingredients in a salad bowl - mix gently.
2.) Combine the Mayonnaise, Cream and Black Pepper and pour over the salad.

Keep chilled - just before serving, mix again gently.

Makes a great light lunch with Rye Bread as well!

Ciao for now,
