Looking for a quick and easy New Years Eve appetizer ?

This baked Camembert is perfect, topped with Ginger cookie crumbles, Honey, toasted Almonds and Rosemary !  All the flavors play so well together.

As a bonus with baked Camembert, you can fit quite a number of Camembert wheels into you oven, therefore it is perfect for a crowd.

Baked Camembert with Honey-Ginger Crumble

You can make one, or ten baked Camembert wheels in one go in the oven ! 

Prepping only takes a few minutes and that includes toasting the Almond slivers. But first, the Cheese is off to the oven for only about 7 minutes.

Sprinkle over the topping which you made whilst the cheese baked, and voila ! Serve in around 10 minutes – start to finish.

How to make Baked Camembert Cheese :

  • Remove the Camembert from all packaging i.e. paper wrapped, box etc
  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C ( 350 deg F )
  • Place the Camembert on a baking tray, lined with baking paper
  • Bake around 7 minutes, no need to turn over, 
  • The Camembert is ready when the center is soft
  • Serve as soon as possible

Here is a quick glance at the ingredients required for the Baked Camembert with Honey-Ginger Crumble :

  • 1 Camembert Wheel, unwrapped
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 -3 Rosemary sprigs, whole
  • 3 Ginger Cookies, roughly chopped – I simply place the cookies in a plastic bag and use a meat pounder to crumble the cookies
  • 2 tablespoons Almond slivers, toasted – you can dry-toast the Almonds (if using raw) in a small skillet – do stir around a lot and remove as soon as the Almonds turn light golden
  • 1 tablespoon Rosemary, fresh, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Honey

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Camembert Wheel unwrapped
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 -3 Rosemary sprigs whole
  • 3 Ginger Cookies roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Almond slivers toasted
  • 1 tablespoon Rosemary fresh, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Honey

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C ( 350 deg F ) - Rub the Camembert Cheese with the Olive Oil
  • Place the Camembert on a ( baking paper lined ) baking tray and top with the whole sprigs Rosemary - bake around 7 minutes until the center is soft
  • Remove from the oven and discard the Rosemary sprigs
  • Transfer the baked Camembert to a serving tray - top with the Ginger cookie crumles, toasted Almonds and chopped Rosemary
  • Drizzle over the Honey and serve immediately

Notes

  • Whilst the Camembert is baking, prepare the toppings - your appetizer will be ready within 10 minutes !
