Layered Breakfast Berry Smoothie

Layered Breakfast Berry Smoothie ~ Delicious, healthy booster for breakfast ! #Smoothies #Drinks #Breakfast

We might not be the biggest breakfast eating family around, but we all love a smoothie, especially one which gives a boost as well.

This layered breakfast Berry Smoothie has a banana layer at the bottom and a mixed berry layer on top. Try to use as much as possible frozen fruits in smoothies to add that extra chill.

Cheri usually spends the weekends at home and leaves Sunday mid morning. A Smoothie is the ideal breakfast when you need something delicious and nutritious, and I always feel better when my kids have something in their stomachs before leaving the house.

LAYERED BREAKFAST BERRY SMOOTHIE

4 Large Smoothies or 6 Medium Smoothies

INGREDIENTS:

BOTTOM LAYER:

1 cup Greek Yoghurt
2 Bananas, peeled and chopped roughly
2 TB Honey {add more if you like it sweeter}
1/4 t Ground Cinnamon

TOP LAYER:

1 cup Frozen Strawberries
1 1/2 cups Frozen Blueberries
1 cup Frozen Raspberries
1 cup Greek Yoghurt
1 TB Honey  {optional}

DIRECTIONS:

1.) Blitz together all the ingredients for the bottom layer in a blender - pour into a jug/bowl and place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
2.) Meanwhile, clean the blender - add all the ingredients for the top layer and blitz until smooth {you might need to divide this into two batches}
3.) Pour the Banana mixture into the glasses and top with the Berry mixture.

Serve immediately and enjoy !

  1. Oh they look really pretty, we have been doing lots of green smoothies here but I think as it starts getting cooler we will swap back to oats. I need to try these next week after I do the shopping and before the weather changes. (we got a down pour today, Autumn is officially here)
