Hoisin & Honey Drumsticks {Slow-Cooker}

Hoisin and Honey Drumsticks {Slow-Cooker}

Sweet, savory and sticky ! These drumsticks have them all and is cooked to tender, almost fall-off-the-bone, meat.

This would be perfect for dinner but I sometimes make them as part of a savory platter when we are having snacks or people over. Also delicious served cold {maybe for a picnic ?  }

I usually pour the sauce into a small bowl, wrap the ends of each drumstick in foil {no sticky fingers ! } and serve it on one large platter. Everyone can then dip {or not} the pieces whilst keeping their hands clean.

{4 dinner servings}

8 Chicken Drumsticks, skin removed
1 TB Ginger, crushed
2 t Garlic, crushed
3 TB Hoisin Sauce
2 TB Honey
2 TB Sesame Seeds
1 TB Sesame Oil
2 Spring Onions, chopped {to garnish}

1.) Pre-heat the slow-cooker on HIGH for 20 minutes. {unless you are marinating first}
2.) Meanwhile cut two or three slits into each drumstick and place in a marinate container.
3.) Combine the Ginger, Garlic, Hoisin Sauce and Honey in a small bowl - pour all over the Chicken - cover and chill for about 2 hours {no need to marinate, but it definitely helps with the flavor!}
4.) Line the bottom of the slow-cooker with baking paper - arrange the Chicken side-by-side in the bottom of the dish - pour over all the remaining sauce - sprinkle with the Sesame Seeds - cook for 2 hours until cooked through.
5.) Transfer the Chicken to a serving dish - drizzle with Sesame Oil and serve with the remaining sauce on the side. {Garnish with the chopped Spring Onions}
