Shabby Chic Wispy Lamp

I did a quick makeover on my table lamp in the lounge - this is the same accent color which I have been using so far. The stand is fine, but the lampshade needed a change badly.

Although the color {silver} goes with the rest of the room, I really needed an accent color in this specific corner .. and I do not like the silver shade anymore...

I do however love the stand - clear thick perspex cubes which turns any way I want them to

Really, really am tired of this lampshade ,,

I removed the silver strings, cut some blue fabric in about 1.5cm {1/2 inch} thick strips and joined each strip with a simple knot - no decorative knots or cutting down the knot ends {all in all I used 4.5 meters of fabric strip}

All that was left - twisted and turned it over the frame - straggly bits and all

 I actually love the straggly pieces hanging from allover  - I did shake the lampshade and most of the very loose strands fell off.

NOTE: I use a very low wattage light bulb and I also tested the fabric to make sure it would not catch fire if the bulb gets too hot.

  4. You know Linda, after I saw this I saw 2 lamps on sale on ebay that were exactly the same style and I was watching it to do the same as this. They finished up selling for a lot more than I was prepared to pay but I'm keeping my eye out. Thanks so much for linking up to Thriving on Thursdays.
