Lemon, Honey & Butter Steak

Lemon, Honey & Butter Steak ~ excellent party snacks/fondues or dinner ! #steak #marinade #partysnacks #beef

Give me a good steak any day and I'm a happy camper ! Among my favorite cuts are Rump/Fillet and Sirloin, although, most cuts are fine with me.

The cheapest cuts available can still be prepared into the most delicious dishes ~ as long as the cook knows what he/she is doing that is.  I would say we have a fairly high expectation of our meat in SA, and am glad to say that we have some of the best supermarkets and butcheries around.

For today's recipe I used Rump but you can go with any good quality beef cut available.

Served on small toothpicks, this is great as a meat to dip at a fondue, a party or you can leave the Steak uncut and have it whole as dinner.

4 servings

1/2 cup Butter
1 TB Olive Oil
2 t Freshly ground Black Pepper
1/4 cup Lemon Juice
2 TB Soy Sauce
Honey, to taste     {I used 2 TB}
4 t Garlic, crushed
2 TB Parsley, chopped

4 200g Lazy-Aged/Matured Rump Steaks

  1. ) Heat the Butter, Olive Oil, Black Pepper, Lemon Juice, Soy Sauce, Honey, Garlic and Parsley over medium heat until the Butter has melted.
  2. ) Remove from heat - let cool for 10 minutes - pour over Steaks in a marinade container - Marinate for at least 2 hours, turning the container regularly.
  3. ) Cook Steak over coals, health griller or a grilling pan until done to your liking.
  4. ) Rest for 10 - 15 minutes before cutting into smaller pieces.
Serve on toothpicks or whole with a crusty garlic bread and a salad on the side.

Till later,
With A Blast
