Chilli Beef Pitas

I love pitas, there are so much one can do with them and the list of fillings is never ending.

This dish is not too hot and can be served as lunch or dinner with an additional salad or two.  I have used Tenderised Steak, which is how we buy them in the supermarkets.  No tenderizers added, just softened with a meat mallet.

It is also extremely quick to make and perfect to pack for a picnic or lunch box.  Equally delicious hot or cold.

Chilli Beef Pitas

{4 servings}

500g Tenderised Beef Steaks, cut into strips
2 t Garlic, crushed
1/2 t Dried Chillies, crushed
2 t Tomato Paste
3/4 cup Milk
Salt & Pepper, to taste
2 TB Oil
6 Pita Breads, halved
Lettuce & Tomato, to serve

1.) Combine the Garlic, Chillies, Tomato Paste, Milk and season to taste with Salt & Pepper - pour over the Beef strips - stir well and let sit for 5 minutes.
2.) Heat the Oil and stir-fry the Beef strips until done.

Fill the Pita Bread with the Beef strips, Lettuce and Tomato.
