Cajun Burger Patties

I am a total fan of Cajun food, but somehow do not make it very often.

The photo might look more like two meatballs, but it is two thick and juicy burger patties. Although it seems like a lot of Pepper for this recipe, it is not hot at all, only a spicy bite in it...

I served this with small cubed fries and a simple carrot salad, which was more than enough for a single person.  The recipe makes six to eight patties - I made six, but mine was almost 2 1/2 centimeters (one inch) thick !

Cajun Burger Patties

750g Lean Ground Beef {Mince}
1 Egg
1 Large Onion, chopped finely
2 t Garlic, minced
1 t Dijon Mustard
1 t Worcestershire Sauce
Salt, to taste

Olive Oil, to fry

1/2 t Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1/2 t Cayenne Pepper
1/2 t White Pepper
1 t Paprika
1 1/2 t Dried Origanum

1 1/2 cups Beef stock, hot
1 TB Corn Flour
3 TB Cold Water

1.) Combine the Ground Beef, Egg, Onion, Garlic, Dijon Mustard, Worcestershire Sauce and season with Salt {mix this very well} - Form 6 - 8 patties and keep aside
2.) Heat 2 TB Olive Oil in a large pan - mix the Black-,White- and Cayenne Pepper together with the Paprika and the Origanum - add to the hot oil and cook 1 minute, stirring continuously.
3.) Add the patties and fry 10 minutes, turning every two minutes {add a little more oil if needed} until all are done - remove from the pan and keep aside {keep warm}.
4.) Add the Beef stock to the pan, mix the Corn Flour with the Water and add to the Beef stock - Boil 3 - 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Pour sauce over the patties and serve. Hope you enjoy!

Bye-bye now,
