PREGO Steakrolls

I have finally made my own Prego Steakrolls !  No idea why I have not tried it before ... All the take-aways are always too hot for us to enjoy properly {even when we order mild}.

At least now that I make my own, I have full control over the recipe and can add as much or as little Tabasco Sauce as we like.

It did not even take that long to make, less than 30 minutes!

PREGO Steakrolls

2 TB Butter
2 Large Onions, sliced thinly
4 Minute Steaks   {very thin steak which we call minute steak in SA}
2 t Garlic, crushed
1/2 cup BBQ Sauce - your favorite will do
Tabasco Sauce, to taste
1 TB Lemon Juice

4 Portuguese Rolls, plain or toasted

1.) Saute the Onions in the Butter, over medium heat, until soft and golden brown - about 10 minutes.
2.) Meanwhile, brush the crushed Garlic over the raw Steaks - use a meat mallet and pounce the meat a couple of times.
3.) Once the Onions are ready, add the Steaks ON TOP of the Onions in the pan - cover with lid - simmer 3 minutes, turn the meat and simmer another 2 - 3 minutes.
4.) Add the BBQ Sauce and the Tabasco Sauce - stir and heat through - remove from heat and add the Lemon Juice - stir again to mix.

Place some Lettuce on one side of the roll, add Steak and top with the Onion/BBQ Sauce.

Hope you enjoy this quick dish !
