Deli Wraps are quick, easy and delicious ! With layers of lettuce, Deli Ham, Cream Cheese and more – make ahead friendly recipe and can be served for lunch, a light dinner or sliced into smaller pieces to serve as an appetizer.
I have asked all the kids to come home, or be home this coming weekend as we need to make some changes in the house.
And these Deli Wraps will be perfect for lunch on Saturday or whenever they need a snack in between moving things around.
The thing I like most about these Wraps is that I can make them way in advance. Hours, not days .. and I am planning on adding these to a larger snack-lunch type of tray.
I would probably make enough food to feed an army again, but that’s fine by me. Since the kids are hardly ever home, hubby and I have been having lots of leftovers the day after.
We still can not get the hang of cooking only for two. Normally all goes well, sandwiches, salads and that type of thing, but the problem starts with for instance cooking rice.
I always cook too much, then I’ll freeze the leftovers,,,, and forget about it. Next I know, I’m putting yet another container of rice in the freezer only to find the previous container has gone bad.
One of these Deli Wraps is enough for me, that is 2 halves, as I like to slice them in half and serve the Wraps that way on a platter with various other savory treats.
When we have them as a light dinner, I will leave the Wraps as is, no slicing.
This recipe is as simple as making a sandwich, which I suppose a Wrap is in a way. Just layer, layer, repeat and roll up.
I also like to use different flavored Cream Cheeses each time I make it, and it makes a huge difference.
My family loves these and they have no particular favorite flavor Cream Cheese, as long as it goes well with the other ingredients, they are happy.
We had some of these a couple of weeks ago, and it was just three of us having a light dinner, therefore I had some leftover the following day.
But I did not think the Wraps would stay fresh, but was quite surprised when it did ! The Avocado was still fine, due to the added Lemon Juice and the Lettuce only became a little less crispy.
I kept the leftovers tightly wrapped in wax paper in a sealed container in the refrigerator, but I think the way I do the layers also helped keeping them delicious even a day after.
