I must have seen Browned Butter Frosting mentioned hundreds of times before.
And I was always curious to know what is so special about this particular frosting.
Recently I made a Fall dessert (remember we are in the middle of Winter in SA), and I could not make up my mind regarding a topping.
I looked at some recipes, but kept going back to various variations of Browned Butter Frosting.
Seemed easy enough, same ingredients as with a plain Butter Frosting. Only with this the Butter needs to be browned .. duh…
So, I gave it a go, and man oh man, was I pleasantly surprised with the almost out of this world taste !
Right, so maybe you think I am a little crazy ! Carrying on like this over a Frosting recipe which has to be older than I am.
But IF you have never tasted it, and try it for the first time, you will get it, pinky promise.
The taste is nowhere near that of a plain Butter Frosting. Only that teeny, tiny bit of browned butter makes the biggest difference ever.
I must have made the Browned Butter Frosting a dozen times already. Actually, to where we have reached a point that my family almost begs me to make something else.
