This is more a cake than a bread, soft, moist and amazing ! I was asked to make it again the following day – Yes, it is that good !
Chocolate Bread With Chocolate Honey Butter
1 medium sized Bread
1 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 cup Cocoa
1/2 t Salt
1/2 t Baking Powder
1/2 t Baking Soda
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Caster Sugar
2 Extra-Large Eggs
1 cup Buttermilk
1/4 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Butter
2 TB Honey
1.) Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F) – spray a medium loaf pan with cooking spray and line the bottom.
2.) Mix the Flour, Cocoa, Salt, Baking Powder and Baking Soda in a medium mixing bowl.
3.) Beat the Butter and Caster Sugar until creamy – add the Eggs one by one, beating in between additions – beat in the Flour mixture and the Buttermilk until well combined – pour into the prepared loaf pan.
4.) Bake 20 minutes – remove from the oven – sprinkle the Chocolate Chips over and return to the oven – bake a further 30 – 35 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
5.) Remove from oven – cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes – turn the bread out and cool completely or still slightly warm.
6.) Melt the Chocolate Chips for the spread – add the Margarine/Butter and the Honey – mix well.
Serve the Chocolate Bread with the Chocolate Honey Butter spread.
