Deli Wraps

These Deli Wraps are quick, easy and delicious - with layers of lettuce, Deli Ham, Cream Cheese and more

I have asked all the kids to come home, or be home this coming weekend as we need to make some changes in the house, and these Deli Wraps will be perfect for lunch on Saturday or whenever they need a snack in between moving things around.

The thing I like most about these Wraps is that I can make them way in advance, hours, not days .. and I am planning on adding these to a larger snack-lunch type of tray.

I would probably make enough food to feed an army again, but that's fine by me. Since the kids are hardly ever home, Roy and I have been having lots of leftovers the day after. I still can not get the hang of cooking only for two. Normally all goes well, sandwiches, salads and that type of thing, but my problem starts with for instance cooking rice - I always cook too much, then I'll freeze the leftovers,,,, and forget about it - next I know, I'm putting yet another container of rice in the freezer only to find the previous container has gone bad.

One of these Deli Wraps is enough for me, that is 2 halves, as I like to slice them in half and serve the Wraps that way on a platter with various other savory treats. If we have them as a light dinner, I'll leave the Wraps as is, no slicing.

This recipe is as simple as making a sandwich, which I suppose a Wrap is in a way. Just layer, layer, repeat and roll up.

I also like to use different flavored Cream Cheeses each time I make it, and it makes a huge difference. My family loves these and they have no particular favorite flavor Cream Cheese, as long as it goes well with the other ingredients, they are happy.

We had some of these a couple of weeks ago, and it was just three of us having a light dinner, therefore I had some leftover the following day, but I did not think the Wraps would stay fresh, but was quite surprised when it did - the Avocado was still fine, due to the added Lemon Juice and the Lettuce only became a little less crispy.

I kept the leftovers tightly wrapped in wax paper in a sealed container in the refrigerator, but I think the way I do the layers also helped keeping them delicious even a day after.

Deli Wraps

6 Large Tortillas
250g (8oz) Flavored Cream Cheese, softened
1 Lettuce Head, leaves, rinsed and dried
250g (8oz) Deli Ham  {your favorite}
2 Avocados, peeled and stoned
1 TB Lemon Juice
Salt and Black Pepper, to taste

1.) Divide the Cream Cheese between the 6 Tortillas - spread, covering the one side of each Tortilla.
2.) Arrange a layer of Lettuce leaves over the Cream Cheese - followed by the Deli Ham.
3.) Mash the Avocados, add the lemon Juice and season lightly with Salt and Pepper - spoon over the Deli Ham and spread to cover the Ham.
4.) Roll up the Tortillas - cover with wax paper and chill 30 minutes.

Serve and enjoy !

  1. I'm a big fan of anything you can make in advance, and when you cut these in half it makes it easier for diners to see what's inside!

  2. Try making you're leftover rice into a rice salad, I have a great recipe on my blog.

These sound great, I don't use avocado half enough!

  3. Oh love that there's cream cheese here! That makes it so yum!

  4. Those look great and will be easy for the kids to take to summer camp! Thanks for sharing!

  5. I love to make wraps when it's too hot to cook! Adding this to our rotation to try!

  6. I love wraps and I love the fact you used cream cheese with the ham, sounds so good!!
