Framed Potpourri Centerpiece

With A Blast: Framed Potpourri Centerpiece {quick and easy DIY}  #crafts  #diy  #projects

I am slowly bringing color into our mainly grey lounge and made this coffee table centerpiece using one of the colors I intend on using.

The photo's are awful, but I have made peace with the fact that I am taking all my photo's with a point-and-shoot type of thingy, which mostly does what's needed and I am no pro at editing {not that PicMonkey can do miracles with a bad pic to start with!}.

Anyhow, that is my glass coffee table, which kind of look a bit lonesome without a rug of some kind underneath, but all in good time!  Before I lay out any cash for a rug, I want to be 100% certain of my color choices.

Back to today's little diy:

With A Blast

I bought an inexpensive frame with a deep-ish center

which I only used the frame and the glass - the glass is supposed to fit in from the back - that's not what I want here - the glass must go on the front in order to create some depth

I used a masonite off-cut - which I painted {more just paint streaks} very lightly and used the same blue on the inside rim of the frame - I then used my hot glue gun and glued the frame to the painted/streaked masonite.

This was followed by Potpourri in which I also glued to the masonite - to finish - I used the hot glue gun again to glue the glass to the top of the frame {it rests perfectly on the rim which I painted blue}

And there it is in it's new place - in the center on the top shelf of my coffee table
{the silver heart and piggy bank is on the lower glass shelf}

Bye-bye now,
