Blue Hawaiian

Blue Hawaiian

Blue drinks !  You have to love them !  It has been said that people are actually drawn to blue colored foods and drinks, as it is not an everyday color associated with food {or drinks!}

I will never say no to one of these Blue Hawaiian Cocktails, which is more or less a PINA COLADA , but a little fancied up.

Same as with a Pina Colada, the Blue Hawaiian can be enjoyed as it should be, or you can make a Non-Alcoholic version as well.

Let's face it - you have guests over for cocktails and they are not sleeping over,,,,, therefore - give the designated driver a cocktail as well - sans the alcohol of course. {and a touch of blue food coloring if you really want to ;-)  }

BLUE HAWAIIAN

Serves 1            {Use the same measuring spoon/cup to ensure the correct balance}

INGREDIENTS:

1 Part Blue Curacao
2 Parts Coconut Cream
2 Parts White Rum {I use Malibu}
4 Parts Fresh Pineapple Juice
Broken Ice
Fresh Pineapple Pieces, to garnish

DIRECTIONS:

1.) Place all the ingredients, except the Pineapple pieces, in a cocktail mixer - shake until well mixed.
2.) Pour through the mixer's sieve into serving glasses - garnish with Fresh Pineapple.
Serve ice-cold with a straw and/or a drink stirrer.

  14. I've never tried a blue drink ...other than KoolAid ... something about that early experience made me leery. However, these look amazing and tempting!

    Meanwhile, I'm singing Elvis songs ... not sure why ... but Blue Hawaiian makes me think of Elvis
