Valentine's Card-Envelope with Note

I was not sure I will be able to finish this craft and actually post it. If you follow me on Facebook, you will know that our dearest 9 month old puppy, Rex, died yesterday. It was a silly, terrible accident.

Now, you may wonder what the post and Rex have in common - he and Chichi are always around me when I am crafting or especially cooking. Yesterday, whilst I was making this card, he sat next to me watching with great curiosity what I was doing, and at some point, I dropped one of the tiny hearts, which he quickly scooped up and ran away, wanting me to chase him.

Later, during the afternoon I was editing some photos, when the awful accident happened, I left my laptop as is, and Roy and I rushed him to the Vet, but he died in Roy's arms about a minute before we got to the Vet. The doctor did tell us even if he had seen him immediately, there would not have been anything he could have done. When I got home and looked at my laptop, these pictures were still there. Needless, to say, I switched everything off and have cried since then, even now, while I am writing this.

This was the last craft project he "helped" me with - the pics might not be on standard but you will get the idea:   {If you read the above paragraphs, I thank you for your time reading}

Large/Medium and Small Paper Hearts {from different craft paper designs}
Permanent Marker & Stencil {or rub-off letters}
Red/Pink Ribbon
White Card stock
Brown Paper {or a small Brown Envelope}
A Postage Stamp or make one as I did {from a gift tag}
Craft Knife & Mat

- Cut a piece of White Card large enough to fold over and form a card - I cut mine with a zig-zag pattern at the top and the bottom

- Using your Craft knife, cut out a Heart shape on the front side of your card

- Fold an Envelope {or use an existing envelope} and glue a piece of ribbon around the front, you only need to fold it in on the underside

- Paste the Envelope on the inside {under the open heart on the front-see main pic} - add some tiny hearts and write on them or just xxx or ooo - whatever you prefer

- This is your actual "Note" Use 2 large hearts, 3 medium hearts and a small heart - keep them together with a staple

- Place this into the brown Envelope.

- Here you can see what I wrote, you can do the same or choose your own words etc

- Some close-ups of the front of the Card

Till next time,
