Spoon Tree Ornaments

I have another cute idea for a Christmas Tree Ornament !

When I saw something similar advertised in a supermarket leaflet, I thought they were absolutely adorable.. until  my eye caught the price.  I will never pay that much...  The advertised spoon ornament is made of tin, is painted and has a picture.

No biggie.. I'll make my own!  Here's how:

Plastic Spoons {wooden will also work}
Small pictures
Craft knife and mat  {or however you prefer to cut out small pics}
Mod Podge
Small brush/sponge to apply the Mod Podge
Pearl strings
Glue for the Pearls

Cut out the pictures and paste to the spoon as shown - apply 2 - 3 coats of Mod Podge
Apply glue and stick the pearls into place
Make a hole* in the top of the spoon and thread through a piece of raffia, tie to form a loop

* I could not figure out how to make tiny holes into the plastic, without breaking the whole thing, when Roy said it is easy...yeah, right ! All he did was take a metal paper clip, heated it with a lighter and pressed it through the plastic - it does not go through straight-away...just re-heat the clip and press, repeat until it goes through {takes about 2 minutes}

Ready to hang on the tree !

Linking up with these cool parties:
