Stone & Leather Bracelet

I am still into this jewelry making mood ... if this carries on for another 2 or 3 weeks, I am seriously going to get the right tools and make more pieces.

The leather cord that I have used here, had been sitting in my ribbon basket for some time, and I thought about making a necklace, but then settled on something smaller first.

These pieces which I have been making the last couple of weeks, are by no means designer jewelry, but just fine for a teenager or every day wear.

This is how you can make this bracelet:

1.) A string of leather cord {measured around your wrist and some extra to compensate for the knots} / Brown wooden beads / flat stone bead / clasp
2.) If the hole of the bead is very small, cut the cord to form a taper - it will then go through the hole and can be pulled through the bead on the other side.
3.) Make a knot at one end of the cord, form a loop and fasten using needle and cotton - thread through the beads, I used 2 beads in between knots - until I reached the center, then I used only one bead after the knot, made another knot and threaded the flat stone bead through - repeat the same way on the other side of the stone and end with a final knot. {keep measuring, around your wrist, all the time to make sure the bracelet is the correct size}
4.) Use needle and cotton again to fasten the clasp to the cord.

Finished !

Afterwards I could see how many possibilities there are using leather cord, large and small beads, knotting and adding other ribbon etc as well.

I will be making a necklace using leather cord soon, just waiting for some creative juices to start flowing again ...

Bye-bye now,
