halved, (I used Imitation Crab Meat)

Cornflour
(Cornstarch)

Flour

Baking Powder

Salt

Ice-Cold Water
Extra Cornflour
to dust (Cornstarch)
Oil
for deep-frying
CHILI SAUCE:
¼
cup
Tomato Sauce
(thick Ketch-Up)
¼
cup
Chili Sauce
mild or strong

Brown Sugar

Soy Sauce

Fresh Ginger
finely grated

Water
Instructions
Combine the Flours, Baking Powder and Salt – add the Ice-Cold Water gradually until a thick batter forms
Dust the Crab Sticks with the extra Cornflour
Heat the Oil for deep-frying
Dip each Crab Stick in the batter – deep-fry until golden – drain on paper towel
CHILI SAUCE:
Place all the Sauce ingredients in a saucepan – heat through over medium heat for 2 minutes – remove and transfer to a serving dish
