Brownie Cheesecake Bars have a chewy Brownie base and the smooth, creamy Cheesecake top layer and makes the best combination ever - perfect as an everyday dessert or decorate for Easter.
Ingredients required for the Brownie Mix (see box)
CHEESECAKE LAYER:
250gCream Cheeseplain, softened
2TBSoft Margarine
1TBCornflour(Cornstarch)
1can (397g)Sweetened Condensed Milk
1LargeEgg
1tVanilla Essence
OPTIONAL:
Icing Sugarto dust
Easter Eggsto decorate
Instructions
Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F) – line a 20 x 30cm baking dish with baking paper – let the paper hang over the edges to remove the baked dish easily
Prepare the Brownie Mix as per the instructions on the box – pour into the prepared dish
In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the Cream Cheese, Margarine and Cornstarch until fluffy – gradually add the Condensed Milk, Egg and Vanilla to the Cream Cheese mixture, whilst beating continuously
Pour the Cream Cheese mixture over the Brownie batter and bake 50 – 60 minutes until the top is light brown
Remove from the oven, let cool completely in the oven dish
Lift from the oven dish, dust with Icing Sugar (if using) and decorate with Easter Eggs (if using) – use a sharp knife to slice into bars and serve
