Bangers & Mash Pie

This is a saucy business !  Make sure you serve lots of bread or dinner rolls with it to scoop it all up.

Without increasing anything else, you can easily use 16 Beef Sausages instead of the 8 I used. This is another KNORR recipe which we all loved.

And if you are curious, yes, I did tweak this recipe a tiny bit as well, really you should know me by now, and if you are new to my blog, ... well, I like tweaking/changing/ adapting recipes!

Bangers & Mash Pie

{serves 4} -  increase the sausages and it will serve up to 8

2 TB Oil
8 Beef Sausages
1 Onion, chopped
2 t Garlic, crushed
2 cans (410g each) Tomatoes, chopped
300ml Water
1 packet KNORR Hot-Pot Dry Cook in sauce
1 can (410g) Peas
1 TB Mixed Dry Herbs
Freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
4 cups Cooked Mashed Potatoes
1 cup Cheddar Cheese, grated

1.) Heat the Oil in a large pan - cook the Beef Sausages until brown and just done {about 8 - 10 minutes} - remove from pan and keep aside.
2.) Using the same pan, saute the Onion and Garlic until soft - place the Beef Sausages back - add the canned Tomatoes - mix the Water and the KNORR Hot-Pot Cook in sauce - add to the pan, stir and let simmer for 15 minutes.
3.) Add the Peas, Herbs and season with Black Pepper - simmer another 15 minutes until the sauce thickens a bit.
4.) Transfer to an oven dish - top with the Mashed Potatoes and sprinkle the Cheddar Cheese over - place under the oven roaster until the cheese has melted and the mashed potatoes has browned a little.

Serve and enjoy!

Later,

  2. This sounds so good, Linda! Now you know, I google everything ..... I didn't have much luck with the 1 packet KNORR Hot-Pot Dry Cook in sauce - is that like a soup mix? Maybe if we don't have that here in the States, I can find a substitution :)
