  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 1 t Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of Soda)
  • 2 t Ground Ginger
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 TB Syrup (Golden- or Corn Syrup)
  • 1 Orange juice and zets
  • 1/2 t Vanilla Essence
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 t Ground Cinnamon
  • Custard optional
  • Extra Ground Cinnamon to dust, optional
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F) – spray a smallish bundt pan with cooking oil (larger pan will also do)

  2. Mix all the ingredients, except Custard and extra Cinnamon, in a medium mixing bowl – beating on low – pour into prepared bundt pan and cover tightly with aluminum foil
  3. Place bundt pan in a roast pan – add boiling water to reach up to the top of the batter in the bundt pan – or close enough
  4. Bake 45 minutes – remove from the oven – carefully remove the aluminum foil {watch out for the steam escaping} – let rest 10 minutes – turn out onto a serving plate
