My favorite sandwich ! Let me introduce you to the B.L.A. or just the “Blah” as we call it here at home.

I am sure you have already figured out what the B L & A stand for, and even enjoy one of these yourself from time to time!

Want to make me happy ? Summer/Winter, no matter, give me one of these B.L.A. Sandwiches and I am in foodie heaven … forget about all the fancy dishes and all – this is all I need to be a happy chappy {foodwise that is!}

Thin Bacon slices, double thick Avocado slices/chunks and lots of lettuce on wholewheat toast is all it takes. Oh, and don’t forget the generous sprinkling of freshly ground Black Pepper {I can do without Salt on this sandwich, but not my Black Pepper}

THE B.L.A.

8 Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

16 Slices Wholewheat Bread, toasted one side
Small bag/head of Lettuce, torn
24 Bacon Slices, cooked {back- or shoulder bacon}
3 – 4 Avocados, sliced thickly
Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS:

1.) Butter {or not} the toasted bread.
2.) Start layering – bread followed by the Lettuce, them Bacon and lastly the Avocado.
3.) Season to taste and top with a slice of toast – serve cold.
