Beer Shandy (3 Ways) ~ 2 Ingredient Beverage with 3 versions - standard, light and non-alcoholic ~ perfect for Game Day and hot Summer days

I kind of feel a little silly sharing such an easy, 2 ingredient drink recipe with you.

But it seems after talking to a couple of bloggy friends, that a Beer Shandy is not that well known all over the world.

After some googling, I found some recipes, all more or less the same, with mostly the soft drink which differs.

Lemonade is close to Sprite, but a bit stronger and I have tried a small glass … nope, not for me – I will stick to the Sprite.

Personally, I think a Beer Shandy is more of a ladies drink, almost like a Beer Cocktail, but also not quite.

Do not get me wrong, I know a lot of guys who like a Beer Shandy. Although, normally, most of them will have the leftover beer from the can or the bottle which the wife or girlfriend used to make her Shandy !

Right, so I have gone through different phases, as most of us (I think!).

Full alcohol, lighter alcohol for when I am watching my weight and more recently, alcohol-free, as alcohol and no gallbladder are not really friends.

Therefore, I include all 3 versions of making a Beer Shandy. This drink is an absolute must for those game days, or to quench a thirst quickly.

Especially after a lot of shouting at the referee … yep, I am one of those, the referee is always wrong when my team’s name comes up !

Serve ice-cold – no ice ! No ice !  But, if you insist … add ice .. to yours, not mine, thank you ! Enjoy!

As stated that is my personal opinion, Ailen, which I have noticed in South-Africa. Unfortunately, I have no idea what goes on in Ireland, but do appreciate your input 🙂

I'm intrigued. I would never think to mix beer and sprite but I mix wine with San Pellegrino so I feel like this would be so great!

Beer shandy always reminds me of my mum as it's something she used to drink. I havn't tried it for years, but it is incredibly refreshing. Hmm...maybe I should have them more often!

I always make mine with lemonade, but only because that's how I first had them. Now I want to try with Sprite though!
