1000 Island Tangy Pork Chops

1000 Island Tangy Pork Chops are the most delicious, tender and tangy Pork Chops around ! The  Dressing gives the chops a wonderful sweet-salty taste with a delicious stickiness.

1000 Island Tangy Pork Chops

We have pork chops several times a month. It is a little healthier than beef and lamb.

That is if you remove all visible fat of course, which I admit, I do not always do (nothing tastier than a crispy piece of grilled or baked pork rind !)

These Tangy Pork Chops is our favorite though. Sweet, sticky and so tangy.

How to make the Pork Chops in the Slow-Cooker :

I have made these Pork Chops both in the slow-cooker and baked in the oven, but I am leaning towards the baked chops, rather than using the slow-cooker. (Purely because of our high electricity bills, nothing else).

Therefore, if you want to cook them in your slow-cooker, go right ahead – prepare as below and cook on high for 3 – 4 hours or on low for 4 – 6 hours.

Hi, I am really looking forward to making this recipe! Don't know where I can get the White Onion Soup Powder, Amazon doesn't carry. Would appreciate more information on this product. Thank you!

Hi Jeanne, I did a quick Google search and have found Lipton Recipe Secrets Soup and Dip Mix (Onion Flavor) which you can also use. It sounds very similar to the Knorr brand I use. Soup powder normally mixed with 4 cups of water when used for a soup. I also found some recipes to make your own powder mix online if you would like to Google that instead

OK.. sigh.. I am so uninformed! Garlic Flakes.. what are garlic flakes? is it a spice you can buy in a jar or the way you chop up a garlic clove? . All I can find is minced garlic; garlic salt; garlic powder...sorry so many questions, but I want to make this!!! :)

Valerie, the Garlic Flakes I use, are dried garlic found with the herbs and spices - but you can use finely chopped fresh garlic if unavailable, just increase the qty to 2 teaspoons. And I am sure the Knorr French Soup Mix will work :-) {replying here as your e-mail is not attached to your comment}
