Hot 'n Sweet Vanilla Milk

Hot & Sweet Vanilla Milk

I don't like drinking milk on it's own, whereas Roy prefers a glass of milk with certain foods.  What I do like is Vanilla Milk !  And Cheri likes it even more.

We have it in our tea/coffee or she will have a glass as is.  I tried this quick and easy recipe, which I found HERE, earlier this week, when I was down with the flu.  I tried to get in as much fluids as possible, but also wanted something hot one night when we had an unusual {for this time of the year} cold evening.

So, it was a two in one - I tried the recipe to make for Cheri {already made a batch for her to take home !} and I enjoyed a hot, sweet Vanilla drink topped with mini marshmallows.

Cheri prefers Vanilla Milk cold, which is okay, I  whipped up a liter, let it cool completely and then transferred it to a bottle and kept it in the refrigerator.

HOT 'n SWEET VANILLA MILK

yields 1 liter

4 cups Milk

1/3 cup Sugar

Pinch Salt

2 t Vanilla Extract

Mini Marshmallows, to top

  1. ) Place the Milk, Sugar, Salt and Vanilla in a microwavable bowl or in a saucepan.

  2. ) Heat until the Sugar has dissolved - approximately 5 minutes {microwave and stove top}

  3. ) Remove from heat,

Pour into serving glasses and top with Mini Marshmallows !

Told you this one is easy !

ps:  try different toppings or add a sprinkle of Cinnamon or Mixed Spice instead of the Marshmallows.

  4. Hi Linda! I had to come and check your recipe out! It's funny because the only way I have white milk is if it's hot with some sort of flavor, yours is perfect, Imagine that with cereal! wow!...also it's a perfect base for desserts that called for plain milk! Thank you so much for sharing, found you at the Six Sister's party.
    hugs, Lizy

  5. This sounds delightful! I am not a big plain milk drinker, and sometimes chocolate milk seems like too much of a dessert. Vanilla milk sounds amazing!

I just cannot bring myself to drink milk .... However, I know the rest of my family would LOVE this :) I bet it would be a nice change from chocolate milk!
