Mediterranean Steak

With A Blast: Mediterranean Steak - rich in flavor and saucy! #mediterranean #steak #quickandeasyrecipe

Today I am sharing another quick and easy recipe with you.  The Steak is quick to fry and the sauce takes under 30 minutes.

All you need to serve with this is some dinner rolls or French bread and a side salad or two. The recipe can easily be doubled if you have a crowd for dinner.

Not everyone, especially kids, are fans of Olives - as the Olives are only added at the end you can easily dish up the picky eaters' first and then add the Olives.  We are fortunately all Olive lovers !

6 servings

2 TB Olive Oil
3 TB Lemon Juice
12 small Minute Steaks
1 Onion, sliced thinly
2 t Garlic, crushed
1/2 t Paprika
1 can (400g) Chopped Tomatoes
1 t Sugar
1/2 cup Red Wine
Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper, to taste
100g Olives, pitted  {black or green}
10 Large Basil Leaves, torn

1.) Heat the Olive Oil in a medium pan - splash the Steaks with Lemon Juice and quickly fry them until done {about 2 minutes per side} - remove from the pan and keep warm.
2.) Using the same pan saute the Onion and Garlic until soft  - add the Paprika, Tomatoes, Sugar, Red Wine and season to taste with Salt & Black Pepper - simmer for 20 minutes.
3.) Add the Olives and the Basil - simmer another 2 minutes - transfer the warm Steak back into the pan and let stand for a minute.

Serve and enjoy this quick and easy recipe !

Till later,

  1. I love Mediterranean flavors - and olives :) Pin button worked for me today!

  2. Great flavors in this sauce and I love the idea of serving it over a steak. Thanks for this delicious easy meal idea, Linda!

  3. I love olives, funny you mention kids, my Jack used to eat them from the jar with his little baby spoon when he was 2 but wont touch them now and Madeleine had her first last night...she was a little unsure of them. I would eat Mediterranean all the time, Greek food is my favorite!
