Black & White Nightstand

With A Blast: Black & White Nightstand - DIY    #makeover #furniture #painting #furniturepainting #nightstand

I have been so busy these past two days and still I get nowhere and just about nothing done !  Where does the time fly to ?! I had about 10 things to do on my list today and only managed to scratch off two !

This little nightstand wasn't even on my list of any {near future} projects and I might add that this was a rush job at it's best.

Cheri and Vince are re-modelling their bedroom and she texted me two days ago, that she's coming to fetch her old nightstand, but the thing really looked sad. We bought it some time ago in just the raw pine state and have only given it a base coat and a light white cover coat.  And that's the way it's been left for ages now.

Right, so of course I offered to change it a bit, new paint and hardware which she was fine with. Cheri did send me a photo of their new color scheme which is {not really surprising for people their age!}  Black, White and Silver.

Above is the BEFORE - see the white is fading and those wooden knobs just does not look right anymore.
Okay, not much to tell - I used Brilliant White #Plascon #Velvaglo first {about 3 layers, although only two would have been fine}
I then used #Plascon #Velvaglo Black to paint the trimmings.  As the bedroom is more towards the modern techno style, I did not want to add too much detail.

I would have preferred nice glass knobs but am sure it wouldn't have looked right with their other decor pieces.  Roy and I found the above knobs at #BuildersExpress and immediately knew that's what will go best with this nightstand.

Now, it is done and waiting for pick-up in the morning by the VIP client a.k.a. Cheri, my daughter - really hope she likes this {do you know how much time it takes to paint those little slats!}

Anyway, she's not too finicky, so I am sure she will like it.

And me... well, I better start that list again, although most of what I'm doing right know is in various stages - from just started to almost finished.  Wish I were one of those organized people who starts one things, finishes it completely before heading onto the next !
