Soda Bottle Posie Vase

With A Blast: Soda Bottle Posie Vase #recycle #vase #crafts #sodabottlecrafts

I felt like making something pretty and had come up with this Soda Bottle Posie Vase. Inexpensive, quick and easy to make - all my favorites in crafting !

I used a 1 liter plastic Soda Bottle but depending on your size styrofoam ball, you can use the smaller or the bigger size.

In the pic below I have already cut the bottle top half off {on the line that goes around the bottle}

I cut on the grooves in the bottle down to where the rounding starts - bent the pieces backwards

Here all the pieces are bent backwards

I then folded the pieces over but {due to the size of my styrofoam ball} the top piece sticks over the inside edge with about 3mm {check your ball size before you start to fold back over}

Filled the bottom piece with small stones

This part was a little tricky - the hot glue gun just did not want to play along - so we inserted a thin wire through the ball, which I have cut in half {make a loop or knot at the top} and threaded this through the stones and out under the bottom of the bottle

Here is a pic of the bottom - we also just made a knotty loop to keep it in place - when you get to this part, you will need to pull a bit {gently!} to pull down the styrofoam ball and be flush with the rounding {edge } of the bottle.

Here I have added paper flowers and stuck pearly pins through the centers - repeated this all round and in some places there were small gaps which I filled with paper flowers cut in half. To hide the tiny piece of wire in the first sea star I added a second sea star pinned with another pearly pin. Finally I simply added a pinkish/red thin ribbon.

Nice and relaxing little craft and it looks great !
