Single Unit Winebottle Vase

Single Unit Winebottle Vase ~ Easy DIY Vase made using 4 bottles, glued together to form 1 Unit #Vase #DIY #WinebottleCrafts

The other day I was paging through some of my 100's {if not 1000's!} magazines and came across some gift guide.  I noticed an unusual vase which looked like it was made out of wine- and soda bottles {an all-in-one fused together thing} - beautiful ! Until I saw the price ! No way am I going to pay that much, so I kept paging and paging --- yes, ok, I'll get to the point .. I had another look and decided to make my own !

So, first photo is my version of a winebottle vase !  Not only painted , {loose} bottles next to one another - read on :

With A Blast

Right, I "found" 4 bottles - the tall one is a brandy bottle, two fat ones - wine bottles and the smaller one is a cider/beer bottle.  None which Roy and I bought, drank or finished ! And no I'm not telling where I got them from :-)

With A Blast

We used Marine Silicone Adhesive to glue the bottles to each other - just enough to hold them in place for the moment - left the bottles overnight to really dry and harden ...

With A Blast

Next morning, we filled the openings {with more Marine Silicone}, as the bottles were curved and I wanted neat "seams" - repeated this on all the sides

With A Blast

The arrows indicate the neat closings of the bottles glued to one another - thereafter we spray painted the unit, making sure to get paint in every nook and corner.

I tied some leather cord loosely around the bottle necks and added some dried leaves and plastic "berries" Just imagine how nice fresh flowers will look !

See the tall bottle has some nice detail to it - maybe I'll just lightly sand over that part ...

And the finished vase - one single unit all nicely glued together.

  7. I've been collecting used bottles, thinking I'll do something with them, and I love what you did. I especially like that you glued them together. Never even thought of that, but I can see how it would make the display more permanent, easier to move, etc.
    thanks for these tips.
    Bless you

  12. This is adorable....great job.
I just saw some spray painted wine bottles and vases that were pretty, too...she taped off bands on the clear glass containers, sprayed white and then took the tape off, after drying....the white and clear were really pretty together.
