Fresh Citrus Jellos

With A Blast: Fresh Citrus Jellos { perfect Summer dessert! }  #desserts  #jello #freshfruit  #fruit

This dessert can be as tart as you'd like to make it, or opt for more honey and a little less Lime Juice & Zest.

I have found that adults like the more tart taste, whereas kids like it a bit sweeter and also without the Zest at all.  We love this dessert as it is freshly squeezed fruit juice being used and is deliciously refreshing.

This is another favorite dessert to end off a rich meal or as part of a BBQ/Grilling do.

FRESH CITRUS JELLOS

4 servings - {100-125ml each}

2 cups Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice, strained {divided}
30g Gelatin powder, plain
1/2 cup Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
1/4 cup Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
Zest of 2 Lemons, {finely grated}
Zest of 2 Limes, {finely grated}
4 TB Honey

Lightly whipped Cream
Chopped Nuts

1.) Pour 1/2 cup Orange Juice in a small bowl - sprinkle the Gelatin over - set aside.
2.) Place the remaining Orange Juice, Lemon Juice, Lime Juice and the Lemon/Lime Zest in a small saucepan - add the Honey - heat over medium heat until boiling point is reached.
3.) Remove from heat and stir in the softened Gelatin - stir until fully dissolved.
4.) Pour mixture into 4 moulds and chill for 2 - 3 hours until set.

Unmould and serve with lightly whipped Cream and chopped Nuts.

Ciao for now,

  5. Yum another citrus yummy dessert.
    This one looks so good, have to see if gelatin is close enough to Paleo to eat it and sub out the whipped cream for coconut whip cream.
