Apple Cream Dip

Apple Cream Dip ~ Apple Dip perfect for crackers, cookies or fruit {can also be served in small bowls as dessert on it's own} #Dip #AppleRecipe #AppleDip

This is a huge Apple cream dip recipe - perfect for when you are asked to bring a dessert to a BBQ or any other gathering.
I did not chop my apple to a fine pulp {using my food processor} - rather the consistency of chunky cottage cheese. This is really up to you - very fine, medium or even roughly chopped.

It takes minutes to prepare and only a little while in the refrigerator - soon as the brown sugar starts to dissolve, it is ready to serve either as a dip for crackers, cookies and fruit, or in a small bowl as dessert.

2 cans (380g each) Tart Apple pieces, pulped or chopped very finely
1 TB Butter, melted
1 cup Fresh Cream  {whipping cream/double cream}
3 TB Rum     {or 2 t Rum Essence}
3 TB Soft Brown Sugar

1.) Mix the pulped Apple and the melted Butter.
2.) Beat the Cream until just stiff { do not overdo this otherwise it will taste buttery}
3.) Add the Rum {or Rum Essence} and 2 TB of the brown Sugar to the whipped cream - fold in the Apple - transfer to a serving dish - sprinkle the remaining 1TB Brown Sugar over and chill until time to serve.

Should you have any leftovers - mine kept well in the refrigerator for 2 days.

  8. Looks good. Do you serve this as a dip or more like a pudding/custard? I'm visiting from the DIY Sunday Showcase.
