A South-African Weekend with the Animals

Today's post is something totally different than what you are used to from my blog ! Dimitri and Stephanie spent a weekend at a wildlife conservation resort, just about an hour or two away from home. This post is full of pictures and not a lot of chatting - our country's Animals know how to talk to you by just looking at their beautiful photos!

Many of these photos were taken from the car and some even out of the car.  It is, however, not a good idea {and against the conservations rules} to get out of your car with some of these guys.

Here we go - Enjoy the lovely Animals of our country ! {Dimitri and Stephanie literally took hundreds of photos and it was not easy to choose only a few to share with you ;-)  }

Just chilling, watching the cars go by...

I did not crop this photo {or any of them} - this is just to show you, exactly how close you pass them on the road

Let me try and get up for a nice photo to give these humans....

Minding his own business, not even interested to look up or pose

The photo of the baby Giraffe was taken in the "Nursery"

Dimitri & Stephanie playing with the little ones

These cubs are having a fun time playing with a ball!

Dimitri's really liking this one - wonder if the thought of bringing one home came up

A Zebra getting out of the way for the car to pass

When I saw the above photo, I went like...oh, good grief ! they DID get out of the car, but then saw the following photo!

This particular lion is in a camp - not sure whether I trust that wire fencing...

And that's all for now, guys - hope you enjoyed a small piece of our country !

  3. OMgosh, Linda! Such beautiful animals! I think lions are such beautiful animals - it's one of my favorite things to see at the zoo :) Not too sure I would wanna be that close to them though! LOL. Good thing there was a fence between Dimitri and that lion .... That first picture before you realize there's a fence there, kinda makes your heart skip a beat - I would have been freaking out!
